Ghana Esports Federation Holds National Esports Directive Stakeholders Meeting

 

 

Accra, Ghana – 20 June 2026 – The Ghana Esports Federation (GESF) has successfully held a National Esports Directive Stakeholders Meeting, bringing together key industry stakeholders, esports organizers, team representatives, arena operators, policymakers, and members of the media to discuss the future governance and development of esports in Ghana.

The meeting highlighted the Federation’s commitment to ensuring that Esports development aligns with Ghana’s national sports policy and broader sporting objectives. According to the Federation, the growth, sustainability, and professionalization of esports require a unified national framework that guides all participants within the ecosystem.

The proposed National Esports Directive, which has undergone extensive review and consultation over the past year, is expected to be unveiled soon. Once implemented, the directive will provide standards and guidelines for Esports teams, tournament organizers, Esports arenas, clubs, and other stakeholders operating across Ghana.

Federation representatives emphasized that a structured and transparent regulatory framework is essential for fostering integrity, professionalism, athlete welfare, fair competition, and sustainable growth within the industry.

The directive is designed to cover all Esports activities across Ghana, ensuring consistency, accountability, and alignment with National sporting standards. It also seeks to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders while positioning Ghana as a leading esports destination in Africa.

The Ghana Esports Federation reaffirmed its confidence in the resilience of the country’s Esports ecosystem, noting that even during periods of testing and transition, the Esports community remains strong, united, and committed to long-term growth.

As preparations continue for the official launch of the National Esports Directive, the Federation encourages all stakeholders to remain engaged in the process and support efforts aimed at building a sustainable and internationally competitive esports industry for Ghana.
