The Road to Games of the Future 2027 Begins

The road to the Games of the Future 2027 is taking shape as World Phygital Community (WPC) members prepare to begin another phase of competition and preparation across the world.

In Ghana, the Ghana Esports Federation (GESF), through Phygital Ghana, has officially opened registration for the 4th Edition of the Phygital Football Rivals Tournament, scheduled for November 14, 2026, in Weija, Accra.

Eight phygital football teams will compete for the championship title in a tournament that promises excitement, rivalry, and an opportunity for teams to demonstrate their strength in the combination of digital football gaming and physical football.

Will Wonder FC Make History Again?

As the competition approaches, one question is on the minds of many fans: Which team will be crowned champion of the 4th Edition?

The first edition was won by After Six FC, while Wonder FC claimed victory in both the second and third editions, establishing themselves as the team to beat.

With Wonder FC seeking to extend their winning streak, the upcoming tournament presents an opportunity for the reigning champions to make history. However, the other seven teams will be determined to challenge their dominance and claim the title for themselves.

Will Wonder FC secure a third consecutive championship, or will a new champion emerge? The answer will be decided on the field and through the digital competition on November 14.

In line with its commitment to developing Phygital sports in Ghana, Ghana Esports Federation continues to promote participation, fair competition, and opportunities for teams to grow.

The tournament will recognize teams finishing from fourth place through to the overall winner, with prize money and medals awarded according to the competition’s official prize structure.

This approach reflects the Federation’s commitment to encouraging participating teams, rewarding their efforts, and creating a sustainable competitive environment for the growth of Phygital sports.

The Phygital Football Rivals Tournament is part of Ghana’s broader efforts to develop Phygital sports, identify talent, and create pathways for Ghanaian teams to compete on the international stage.
