E-SPORTS AFCON: Abubakr set to represent Ghana in Côte d’Ivoire

The road to Afcon E-Sports 2024 took place on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Madagastar Esports Arena West Hills Mall.
The tournament was organized by the Ghana E-Sports Federation to select players who would represent Ghana in the E-Afcon Orange E-Sports Experience in Ivory Coast.
The tournament had players representing 8 out of the 16 regions in Ghana. Representatives from Accra, Kumasi, Volta, Central, Oti, Western,
Tamale, and Eastern conveyed for the tournament on PlayStation5

At the end of the tournament, Greater Accra representative Abubakar Abdulganew emerged as the winner once again after claiming victory in the 2023 tournament.
He, however, represented the nation in the last tournament and has gained the ticket to represent Ghana again.
The two-time national champion topped his group with nine points to proceed to the round of 16 and ultimately to the finals.
E-football Ghana’s champion will join 13 other nations Ivory Coast , RDC, CENTRAL REPUBLIC AFRICA , TOGO, MADAGASCAR, CAMEROON, SIERRA LEONE,
BENIN,SENEGAL MALI, GABON to participate in the E-Afcon Orange E-Sports Experience in Ivory Coast.

 

Abubakar Abdulganew is said to set sail from Ghana on January 18, 2024, to Ivory Coast.
The regional association members who attended the event promised to have their region represented at the next tournament.
President of the Ghana Esports Federation expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the participants in his closing remarks.

The E-Sports AFCON will take place in Côte d’Ivoire from 19th -20th of January 2024.
