The maiden edition of the Warmup+ 3Sport Esport festival, organized in collaboration between the Ghana Esports Federation and Media General’s TV3, has ended successfully.
The event, which took place at the premises of TV3 on September 2, 2023, had Ghana’s former number one, Wondakid, emerging as the winner.
The activity attracted over two hundred gamers and Esports enthusiasts who flocked to witness what many attendees dubbed a remarkable event.
TO THE GAME
Wondakid started the game on a high note, making a statement of intent from the beginning. He defeated his opponent by 10 goals in his first group game. He dazzled the group with his unique skillsets, securing resounding victories.
Popular social media influencer Kwadwo Sheldon also faced Wondakid, who scored five goals against him.
Ghana’s current number one, Kennedy, scored 21 goals against his opponent in Group D, but it was Mbappe who stole the show in the group stages.
Mbappe showed no mercy, scoring 17 goals against Albert, 6 goals against George, and 8 goals against Jeffrey in Group D. If there’s one word that describes Mbappe — ruthless would be more appropriate.
Kennedy and Wondakid advanced through their respective rounds to reach the finals of the competition.
The finals were nerve-wracking for Ghana’s champion, who was facing his former teacher, Wondakid.
In a highly anticipated game that lived up to the billing, Kennedy barely performed. Wondakid dominated and defeated the current champion with a breathtaking performance.
The former Ghanaian Champion claimed the grand prize of Two thousand Ghana cedis, the second runner-up received One Thousand five hundred cedis, and the third-place finisher received One Thousand cedis for their efforts.
